Introducing Level Free and Level Premium
06 12 2019
Learn about the new Level — the platform for independent musicians everywhere.

When Level first launched, we wanted to set about creating the future of music but knew that we couldn’t do it alone. Rather, we listened to our early community of artists to inform Level’s next steps.

With Level beta, independent artists shared their thoughts, stories, and perspectives to help us approach our next phase with intention and consideration. What drives us to create? What cannot be negotiated when releasing our work to the world? We found that across varying disciplines and genres, a few commonalities emerged.

Our artists valued simple, intuitive tools to help them distribute, promote, and earn from their music. They unanimously agreed that ownership is a must — both in owning the rights to their music and the next step in their careers. And in an industry that has been accompanied by a certain skepticism, our community made it clear that honesty and transparency are essential.

Inspired by the input and feedback, we’re now ready to share the next stage of Level by introducing Level Free and Level Premium.

Level Free

Every artist deserves the opportunity to be heard without having to pay.

That’s why Level Free includes two tracks, giving you the potential to reach millions of listeners across popular music services — for free. Along with key features you may already be familiar with (smart release pages, easy withdrawals, and streaming analytics), Level Free lets you take control of your work and your next step.

Level Premium

Level Premium is our new paid tier that comes with extra features and all the tracks you’ll need — available for the introductory price of $20 USD per year. This flat pricing is the fairest to artists long-term as it will allow the platform to stay accessible, and at the same time, allow us to continue building great things for the future.

As a reminder, all Level users who joined during beta will have free access to Level Premium through the end of 2019. Learn more.

Level Premium features include:

More Tracks, More Artists

Release up to 200 tracks so you can continue to grow and explore without worrying about limits. Managers and independent labels also have the space to build and grow a roster with up to 5 artists on Level Premium.

Multiple Primary Performers

You can now add multiple Primary Artists to a track. This option allows equal collaborators to share top billing and for the release to be featured across all Artist Profiles, rather than forcing musicians to choose between one another.

Production Credits

With so many collaborative roles at play, Level Premium lets you properly credit all the people who made your release possible. With Production Credits, you can assign roles like lyricist, producer, and more to your tracks. This metadata will show up within streaming services for each track so everyone can receive their due. Sometimes, it does take a village.

Custom Label Name

Develop your brand identity with a custom label name that will appear alongside your releases on all music services.

Catalog Transfer

Migrate your entire catalog to Level by adding existing ISRCs to your tracks. This lets you maintain streaming data and stats from previous releases without any hassle.

With both Level Free and Level Premium, you can earn from your music and release confidently, knowing that you will always keep 100% of your rights and royalties.

Thank You

This is just the beginning. We’re actively working to develop and add more features to both Level Free and Level Premium. Get in touch and let us know what you want to see in the next iteration.

Thank you to our artist community who shared their insight and feedback during Level’s beta — it has guided us to where we are now and will continue to do so as we work to build the future of music together.
